Watermelon and Plum smoothie

**I made a discovery a few weeks ago. I think persimmons are out of season. None of the shops doesn’t sell them anymore not even the specialty shop I used to get them from. But I did notice plums,  kiwis and watermelon are in abundance so I will be dedicating these easy fruit smoothie recipes to these fruits. Here we go enjoy!

  • Watermelon and plum smoothie
  • 1 cup of watermelon Easy fruit smoothie
  • 2 medium size plums
  • 400-500ml of water. You can use fresh apple juice or orange juice if preferred.
  • If you are using water, add a tsp of honey.
  • Add few leaves of mint. This is optional.

Cut the watermelon into 4 and use a quarter. Keep the rest to snack on later because they are simply delicious. Use the flesh of the watermelon making sure all seeds are removed. I know it’s a pain but you can do it. Think of the end product!!  I promise it’s worth all the efforts.  Using a sharp knife cut the plums into two and remove the stone. Put the watermelon and the plums together with some water or fresh juice into a blender and blend until smooth. If you include mint leaves add that too before blending. I did in this smoothie. Gives it an extra edge and a refreshing taste. 👍

To store the rest of the watermelon, cut away the thick green flesh and save the juicy red flesh. Cut the red bit into small cubes, put in a freezer bag and freeze. Keep as frozen for your next smoothie. If you don’t have space in your freezer, use as a snack throughout the day.

Frozen Mango and summer berries Smoothies with hint of Mint

mango and berries smoothie

Ingredients.

This easy fruit recipe came by when I bought some frozen mango and frozen berries to keep for my smoothies. Got home and realised there was not enough room in my freezer. Stored it in the fridge and it was completely half thawed by evening time. I made mango puree that evening and had it like ice cream. That was very nice. The following day. I had some more thawed mango and berries to use. I enjoyed making and drinking them hope you do too. You can adjust the quantity of the fruits when making for a larger group of people.

Ingredients.

  • 1/2 a cup of Frozen or thawed Mango
  • 1/2 a cup of frozen or thawed summer berries
  • few leaves of Mint
  • 1/4 cup of water. Use more water if you use the mango from frozen. Remember there is some liquid from the thawed fruits. Use it. I wanted my smoothie thick so I used less water. You can add more water or Milk if you wanted to.

Method.

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Now enjoy your refreshing drink.

Hi James! I am glad you find my site useful and using my recipes in your daily lifestyle routine. A healthy diet should be well balanced. A bit of exercise would be helpful. And don't forget to drink lots of water and have good night sleep. Don't worry you will start seeing results!! I have to say I like the mango and strawberry too and sometimes I use this as 'custard' when having a bit of cake or home made apple pie instead of using cream or proper custard. Best wishes!!
