Crab meat salad recipe with Beetroot
Crab meat is one of those things you buy and start scratching your head on how to make it fancy. You either love it or hate it. It has a strong taste and not everyone’s cup of tea. Crab meat is very versatile. It can be used in salads, as stuffing for instance with peppers.
Although crab meat is considered to have a high level of cholesterol, it is rich in Omega 3 fatty acids, protein and omega 6 fatty acids.
It also contains vitamins: A, B1, B3,B5,B6,B9,B12 and C. When it comes to minerals, crab meat is not lacking in those either. It contains calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium selenium and zinc.

You see, there are plenty of reasons to add crab meat to your diet. The fresher the better but there are other alternatives available. For this cold crab meat recipe, you could use the tinned meat too. This will be perfectly fine.
Beetroot: I am not going to go on about beetroot. Find out for yourself. This lovely ancient vegetable is eaten raw in salads, lightly sauteed, boiled or steamed.
I was not a lover of beetroot but I have now found creative ways to eat this wonderful vegetable.
Crab meat recipe with beetroot.
- 1 medium size beetroot
- 100g of crab meat
- 1 small size apple
- 1 garlic
- a handful of parsley
- 1 spring onion
- Juice of 1 lemon
- pinch of chili flakes
- 50ml of cold pressed rape seed oil
Method on how to make the crab meat salad.
Wash the beetroot, apple, and spring onion. Remove any dead skin off the spring onion and peel the skin off the garlic.
Please cut the apple and spring onion into a food chopper. Now add parsley, lemon juice, and the oil and chop everything into a fine texture.
Mix everything together with the crab meat. Add the chili flakes for a bit of kick. Let this mixture rest for about 20 minutes.
Use a peeler and thinly peel the beetroot. Assemble the peeled beetroot on a plate and
